Three ways to reclaim your no

Let’s be honest: saying no isn’t always easy.

But every yes costs you.

Your time. Your energy. Your alignment.

If you’ve been saying “yes” out of obligation, guilt, or habit instead of putting yourself first, here are three ways to reclaim your no:

1. “I’d love to, but I don’t have the bandwidth right now. Can we revisit this in a few days/weeks/months?”
A no doesn’t have to be forever. It can just be a no for now. You’re not rejecting them—you’re honoring you in this season.

2. “Let me think about it and get back to you.”
Giving yourself space to reflect ensures your yes actually means yes, not resentment later.

3. The classic: “No.”
No explanation. No apology. Just a complete sentence. Your no is powerful, and it protects your yes.

If you're afraid of disappointing others, consider this: are you disappointing yourself instead?

Today, I invite you to say YES to yourself.
